Submitting and Article

WHS welcomes unsolicited manuscripts!

WHS publishes manuscripts from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives on such topics as:

• The presidency and presidential spouses
• Social, political, and family life in the White House
• White House history and politics

Authors should submit three copies of their manuscript to the editor. Manuscripts should adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style, include endnotes rather than footnotes, and be roughly 20 pages in length (typed, double-spaced). Each manuscript should contain a short abstract (100 words) and, on a separate cover page, please include the title of the article, author's name, institutional affiliation, and contact information. The cover page will be removed before the manuscript is sent to reviewers.

Should your manuscript be accepted for publication, the author will be responsible for submitting a final version of the manuscript on computer disk (WordPerfect or IBM-compatible program) along with a short biographical sketch suitable for publishing in the journal. Authors whose manuscripts are published in WHS will receive two complimentary copes of the journal and 10 reprints of their work. Additional reprints can be ordered through the publisher.
