Course offerings for Spring 2010 (with links to additional information)
Phil 310, Metaphysics: What it is about. (Not the paranormal.) Partly on Laulima, but I’ll see you in class.
Phil/WS 393, Normality, Abnormality, and Society:
This is an entirely online course. There is some enrollment pressure for it, and many people are confused about a) what the course is about, b) how it will be conducted, or c) how much work it will involve. The following two documents will help explain these questions. Feel free to drop if the course does meet your needs, or email me if you have questions.
393 -- Normality Intro #1: Cautions and Requirements. Read this carefully. It might make the course unattractive to you. Don’t feel bad – it’s much better to drop early than too late. If you do decide to drop, it would be helpful to me if you told me so – just so that I can promptly add someone from the waiting list.
393 -- Normality Intro #2: The Nature of the Course. Here’s what it’s about. Please read this description especially if your main reason for taking the course is that it’s listed as a Women’s Studies course. I hope you’ll still want to take it, but I don’t want you to take it under a misunderstanding.
Both courses will be conducted through Laulima: https://laulima.hawaii.edu/portal
