STARTING JOYWIN

The JoyWin program is used to move the stage and spectrometers. It is also useful for finding out what elements can be assigned to the moveable spectrometers.

IF YOU ARE BOOTING THE COMPUTER OR STARTING JOYWIN, BEGIN HERE

1) START THE JOYWIN PROGRAM AND INTERFACE WITH THE ARL MICROPROBE

IF THE COMPUTER AND JOYWIN ARE RUNNING, BEGIN HERE

1) CHECKING THE STAGE POSITIONS AND THE SPECTROMETER POSITIONS.

  • A window will come up with the stage and spectrometer positions.
  • DO NOT move the stage or the spectrometers while this window is up.

2) ADJUSTING THE POSITION NUMBERS

  • Check the positions of the stage (X, Y, Z) and spectrometers (1, 2, 3) on the microprobe.
  • If they differ from those on the computer, enter the correct numbers that appear on the microprobe .
