Starting Probe for Windows

Probe for Windows is used to collect quantitative data from the microprobe.  It is also used to position the spectrometers and to identify unknowns using the wavescan routine.

1. Go to the MICROPROBE DOCUMENTS folder on the desktop and double click on Probe for Windows.

  • When the Probe for Windows window is opened, select FILE, NEW from the menu.

  • Fill in your name and give a detailed description of the dataset you are creating.

2. Then go to STANDARDS, ADD STANDARDS

  • Add the standards that you need for your run

3. Hit the ACQUIRE button

  • Set up your elements and spectrometers
  • Set your count times

4. RUN the sample
