Guidelines for Equipment and Facility Usage By Permittees

Purpose

The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure that the University Canoe Program's (UCP) equipment and facility will be accessible to and maintained for the primary beneficiaries -- students who are enrolled at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo (UHH) and Hawai'i Community College (HawCC), and faculty and staff who are employed at either institution.


Guidelines for use of equipment and facility by permittees

UCP equipment consists of canoes, bailers, storage devices, paddles, buggy, etc. Facility is defined as the UCP halau located at Hilo Bay Front as well as the halau's related equipment. Use of the UCP equipment or facility shall not be permitted unless prior, written authorization has been granted by the appropriate UCP representative or the designated campus administrator. Administrator shall keep original of reservation form and signed Indemnification form. Administrator shall send Permittee a copy of the Request Form with Approved or Not Approved Indicated. Permittee shall keep a copy of Guidelines. Permittee shall submit a reservation request and deposit within 60 days prior to the date needed. Written confirmation or denial will be made within 2 weeks. Permittee shall pay a designated fee. Should there be other special use conditions as required by the permit applicant, they must be cleared prior to the issuance of the permit.
