HPE 101 — Physical Fitness- Conditioning exercises and activities to develop and maintain physical efficiency. Motor fitness tests administered to measure status and progress.

HPE 102 — Aerobics- Fundamental principles of aerobic exercise done to music. Physical and mental development training for total body maintenance and efficiency. Development of individual's own aerobic fitness program.

HPE 105 — Open Water Scuba Certification- The science and physiology of scuba diving. The course explores the theory and practice of underwater diving. Commonly used equipment and safety considerations are covered. The course includes in-class instruction, underwater pool diving experience and open water diving. Students who successfully complete the course will receive PADI Open Water Diver certification.

- Prerequisite(s): No less than a 3.0 average in all UHH courses, a certification from a physician and permission of the intructor.
- Notes: May be taken only once. Additional charges for equipment rental and underwater diving may be incurred.

HPE 300 — Psycho-social Aspects of Sport- The functions and dysfunctions of the sporting system will be examined from sociological perspectives. In addition, specific psychological constructs are presented in order to examine the relationship between environmental sources of influence and the individual's capacity for self-management in the sporting world.
