2007-2008

Something Korean

Learn Korean language and culture with Center for Global Education and Exchange peer assistant, Hyun Ji Lee. This year Hyun Ji has expanded her popular class to include a beginner and intermediate level. Students learn Korean language and culture through classwork,viewing Korean movies, soap operas, music videos, and even doing homework. 

Conversation Partner ProgramWord document

This program, coordinated by peer assistant Rie Takemoto, brings together students from the Japanese 101 course and Japanese and Korean exchange students to share language and culture. Students meet once a week for an hour on campus.

2006-2007

Something Korean

Program coordinated by GEL, Jimmy Lee, provides an opportunity for non-native Korean speakers to learn about Korean language and culture directly from Korean exchange students.  Some activities they have planned are viewing Korean movies, soap operas, music videos, and learning basic communications skills in Korean. 

2005-2006

Japanese Language and Culture Exchange

Program coordinated by former peer assistant, Kimiko Tomita. This was the first year to bring together native Japanese and English speakers together to share their language and culture with one another.
