Seinan Gakuin University (SGU)
Seinan Gakuin University (SGU)is well known for its international atmosphere, which originates from its establishment as a Christian school and a relatively large number of foreign faculty members since its early days. SGU has five departments with eleven divisions and four graduate schools, and there is a combined enrollment of over 7,000 full-time students. SGU has always been a pioneer in university education in southwest Japan.
Gunma Prefectural Women's University (GPWU)
Gunma Prefectural Women's University (GPWU) was established in 1980 with the goal of providing young women and adults in the region with opportunities to acquire knowledge both in liberal arts and their major areas of art and literature. Its academic programs emphasize seminars and lecture series. GPWU is located in Tamamura, Gunma Prefecture, in a beautiful and quiet setting near the Tone River. It is surrounded by the hills Akagi, Haruna and Myogi. Tamamura is about a two-hour's drive from Tokyo
Hijiyama University

Hijiyama University, whose name comes from the small, green hill located in the center of Hiroshima City, dates back to the 1939 establishment of Hiroshima Showa Women’s Middle School, specially designated as a teacher training school for the students of Hiroshima University of Literature and Science. The founding philosophy of the institution is "To strive for the traditional Japanese ideal of Permanence in Life.”

While most of the students who attend the Prefectual University of Hiroshima are from the Hiroshima Prefecture, students from all walks of life enroll in the college. There are students from Korea, Taiwan, China, and South America. The campus is located in Hiroshima City. There are museums and cultural events throughout the year in the city. The students enjoy a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere at the university with lots of extra curricular activities that enrich the academic experience.
Hiroshima University (Hirodai)
Hiroshima University is one of the largest and most modern one-campus universities in Japan. It has a staff and faculty of approximately 3,150 and about 16,000 students including 700 international students. The campus, located 30 km from Hiroshima City (pop. 1 million), is situated in Higashi-Hiroshima--a campus town of roughly 124,000 residents. Hiroshima Prefecture lies on the coast of the Seto Inland Sea in an environment endowed with natural resources and beauty.
Undergraduate students are accepted with the status of Visiting International Students based on the short-term students exchange program. Graduate students will be accepted with the status of Visiting International Students, Special Research Students or Foreign Research Students. Students may take Japanese language and studies courses, content courses taught in English, and regular courses taught in Japanese. To take the regular courses, students must demonstrate high levels of language proficiency.
Nanzan University
In the hills overlooking metropolitan Nagoya (pop. 7 million), Nanzan is Japan's second largest Catholic university. Founded in 1946, Nanzan today has seven faculties and eleven research centers and institutes. With an undergraduate enrollment of 8,900, the University has been able to maintain a low student to teacher ratio.
Exchange students enter the Center for Japanese Studies at Nanzan University (250 international students), which offers an intensive Japanese language program (elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, pre-advanced, advanced), specialized courses in Japanese studies (politics, economy, business, folklore, society, religion, literature, history), culture (flower arrangement, calligraphy, woodblock printing, Chinese black ink painting) and extra-curricular cultural and social activities. Advanced students can choose from a series of seminars which are conducted in Japanese.
Kibi Interanational University
Kibi International University was founded in 1990 as a sociology college. The college is located in the town of Takahashi. This town is a historical landmark in Japan. The University has 4 schools with 14 departments, with Ph.D programs and masters programs. The university focuses on students who wish take an active role in the global community.The University of the Ryukyus (Ryudai)
The University of the Ryukyus (Ryudai) was established in 1950 by the United States Civil Administration of the Ryukyus. It became a national university in 1972 when Okinawa reverted to Japanese sovereignty. Today, Ryudai is a comprehensive institution with six colleges (Law and Letters, Education, Science, Medicine, Engineering, and Agriculture), and with advanced degree programs in law, education, science, medicine, health sciences, engineering and agriculture. There are 1,700 faculty and staff, and approximately 8,000 students (7,000 undergraduate, 1,000 graduate); some 200 international students from 28 countries study at Ryudai. Ryudai is spread out over 1.3 million-square meters (campuses) and is located in a hilly area of central Okinawa.
UH students will have "non-regular" student status. Undergraduates will be enrolled as "special auditors" and graduate students will be "special research students." Ryudai offers Japanese language courses for international students from beginning to advanced levels. Depending on their Japanese language proficiency, students may also take regular courses that are taught in Japanese.
Hokkaido University

Hokkaido University is one of the leading national universities of Japan. The university was founded as Hokkaido Imperial University on April 1, 1918, in the Meiji Era. It was one of nine imperial universities. Since the founding of Hokkaido University, Sapporo Agricultural College has been part of the University. Sapporo, the capital of Japan's northern island of Hokkaido, is known for its unique history, striking natural beauty, and relaxed character. Hokkaido University offers degrees programs in culture and society, environment, and science technology. Courses offered in the International Activities Center include Hokkaido University Open Japanese courses. Exchange Students have a chance to take Japanese language and cultural activities.
Daito Bunka University

In 1923, the Japanese Parliament founded Daito Bunka University by special resolution. The school now has seven undergraduate faculties and five graduate school programs in humanities and social science studies. The number of students who attend the school is approximately 14,000. Daito Bunka University offers programs in literature, Chinese studies/English & American literature, Chinese language, economics, business administration, international relations, law, and social sciences. Exchange students can take part in the Japanese Language Program.
Japan College of Foreign Language

Japan College of Foreign Language was established in 1970. The college has many activities for language acquisition and interactive cultural events that students can take part in. They have 57 majors as well their Japanese Language Division. Japan College of Foreign Language aims at three areas of education. Their first objective is to educate Japanese students in Japan. The second objective is to educate the Japanese students in Japan for study abroad. The third objective is to educate international students in Japan. The Japan College of Foreign language is happy to have international students who have the desire to learn about Japan’s culture and heritage.
Rikkyo University

Rikkyo University was founded in1874 as St. Paul’s College. Located in the center of Tokyo, today, Rikkyo University has grown to become a major university with nine colleges and thirteen graduate schools. Rikkyo University offers programs in art and sciences, business, economics, social relations, law and politics, and tourism. Approximately two-thirds of the specialized subjects offered at the Department of Global Business are taught in English. These language lessons, organized in progressive levels in accordance with the language proficiency of the student, are aimed at promoting the understanding and retention of the specialized subjects. Rikkyo University has made their institution a place to develop human resources, new ideas, and to improve human life.
Tokyo Gakugei University
Tokyo Gakugei University was established in May 1949. The university promotes research activities, teaching and learning, and new innovations. Tokyo Gakugei University offers 24 programs for education and 18 for the liberal arts. There are over 350 faculty members to teach the 5,000 students that attend the school. The University has currently 500 international students. Foreign students are able to take not only classes designed for them, but also can enroll in regular classes. The campus is located in Koganeit City in suburbs of Tokyo.
