The Department will be moving into a new Science and Technology Building, scheduled to open in January, 2011. This building will have classroom, office and laboratory space (instructional and research) and a machine shop. The Department will also be inaugurating its meter-class instructional telescope atop Mauna Kea summit in late 2009. The Department currently has seven other faculty members and about 70 physics and/or astronomy majors.
