Instructor of Mathematics (#73268T) Position Description
The recruitment for this position vacancy has concluded.
UH Hilo, College of Arts & Sciences, general funds, full-time, temporary with annual possibility of renewal, non tenure-track, nine-month appointment, to begin approximately August 2013, pending position clearance and availability of funding.
Teach courses in Mathematics, including possible evening and distance-learning; supervise and expand, with oversight from the department chair, our established program for mathematically under-prepared students; advise students; engage in scholarly activities, and/or creative endeavors that contribute to the mission of the Department and the University; perform service to the University and community.
M.A. in Mathematics from an accredited college or university; evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching.
Evidence of successful undergraduate teaching in a multicultural setting; evidence of successful teaching in introductory Math courses such as College Algebra and Pre-Calculus; evidence of success, (including assessment experience), in preparing mathematically under-prepared students for success in the Calculus.
Competitive, and commensurate with training and experience.
