Assistant Professor of Nursing (#73290) Position Description
The recruitment for this position vacancy has concluded.
University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, College of Arts & Sciences, School of Nursing (SON), tenure-track, general funds, full-time, nine-month type appointment, to begin approximately January 2013, pending position clearance and availability of funding.
Teach courses in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs to include: lectures, practicum and courses delivered by distance education; advise students; engage in scholarly activity and development outcomes assessment; and participate in University and community service. Serve on SON committees and participate in mandatory faculty meetings and SON events.
Doctorate in a nursing-related field with Family Nurse Practitioner credential. (In unusual circumstances, the requirement of the doctorate may be waived by the University upon demonstration of appropriate professional training, competence, or experience.) Masters’ degree in Nursing with APRN FNP credential required. Masters’ applicants are encouraged to apply. Hawaiʻi RN license and other established professional and health requirements must be met at the time of hire.
Doctorate in Nursing. Experience in Acute Care, Pediatric, and Community Clinical settings, asynchronous education technology, simulation lab practice and outcomes assessment. Experience in teaching Advanced Practice Nursing students. Administration of grants, and contracts experience. An established record of research.
