Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (73383)
Special funds, full-time, tenure-track 11-month type appointment to begin approximately June 2010. The University reserves the right to hire at another rank when the selected candidate is qualified for the rank.
Duties: Teach the scientific basics of pharmacy in the areas of pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, medicinal chemistry, or other pharmaceutical sciences, to students in Pharm.D. and Ph.D. programs, and advise students. Implement the scientific underpinnings of pharmacy practice as a health profession throughout the curriculum. Establish a funded research program that balances teaching and research. Perform service to the University and community.
Minimum Qualifications: At the time of application: Assistant Professor Rank: 1. Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university in one of the Pharmaceutical Sciences or a doctorate with equivalent training in a relevant discipline; 2. Two years of relevant experience; 3. Ability to communicate clearly in the classroom and in the context of other student and faculty interactions; 4. Ability to contribute to the appropriate pharmaceutical sciences lectures and laboratory components of the Pharm.D. and Ph.D. curricula. Associate Professor Rank: In addition to the Assistant Professor as stated above; Five (5) years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of assistant Professor or higher with an evidence of a sustained record of: a. high quality teaching performance; b. peer reviewed funding and publications; c. service to the academic life of a college. Full Professor Rank: In addition to the Associate Professor as stated above; 1. A minimum of five (5) years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of Associate Professor or higher; 2. Record of international recognition in the discipline of endeavor through participation in symposia, committees, and publications.
Desirable Qualifications: 1. Experience in grant-writing for research and/or clinical professional training related to Pharmaceutical Sciences or Basic/Health Sciences or Pharmacy Professional Education; 2. Postdoctoral experience in a department/division of a U.S. College or School of Pharmacy, or other related institution; 3. Curriculum development experience in a graduate/professional program at a U.S. academic institution or equivalent; 4. Scholarship documented by publications in peer-reviewed journals, and presentations at scientific and/or professional forums.
Pay Range: Commensurate with training and experience
