Assistant Professor of Political Science (83186)
UH Hilo, College of Arts and Sciences, general-funds, tenure-track, nine-month type appointment, to begin on August 1, 2010.
Duties: Teach undergraduate courses including Political Theory, Introduction to American Politics, Capstone Seminar in Political Science, and upper division courses in the area of specialties, advise students, contribute to program development, conduct research, serve on university committees, engage in scholarly activities, and/or creative endeavors that contribute to the mission of the University. Perform service to the University and community.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in political science in hand from an accredited college or university is required at the time of appointment, demonstrated expertise in History of Political Thought and Contemporary Political Theories. Evidence of good teaching skills.
Desirable Qualifications: Expertise in feminist/gender theory. Evidence of successful college level teaching in a multicultural environment. Commitment to scholarly research and academic publications.
Pay Range: Competitive
