Assistant Professor of United States History (84483)
College of Arts and Sciences, tenure-track, general funds, full-time, nine-month type appointment, to begin approximately August 2010, pending position clearance and funding.
Duties: Teach undergraduate courses, including the two semester survey sequence in World History; offer upper division courses that include coverage of U.S. History in full over four semesters; advise students; engage in scholarly activity and publish results in peer reviewed publications; engage in curriculum development and outcomes assessment; serve as department resource on U.S. History curriculum issues; and participate in University and community service.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in U.S. History from an accredited college or university; ability to teach World History; evidence of successful undergraduate teaching (especially teaching evaluations), and an active research agenda.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience teaching U.S. and World History; peer reviewed publications in U.S. History; peer reviewed publications in U.S. History; evidence of continuing, active research agenda. Experience with asynchronous education technologies. Commitment to learning outcomes assessment.
Pay Range: Competitive
