Student Success and Retention Committee

At the March 7, 2003 meeting of the Congress, the Student Success and Retention Committee was charged with:
- Coordinating efforts aimed at enhancing retention and graduation
rates by
- improving communication among units and improving communication with students.
- overseeing the establishment of a data base of information on retention gathered by this campus
- reviewing current retention efforts to identify areas where needs are unmet or require significant augmentation
- identifying helpful retention practices and developing processes for assessing their effectiveness in improving retention and graduation rates
- Recommending retention initiatives
- Alerting the university community to evidence that may indicate undesirable trends in student retention.
- Working with all UHH units to establish and recommend the annual retention and graduation rate goals for the University to the UHH Congress which, in turn, recommends to the Chancellor.
- Reporting annually to the UHH Faculty Congress on university efforts to retain students and improve their timely progress toward graduation.
