Our Mission:

The mission of the University Disability Services Office is to provide services and supports to disabled students, faculty and staff at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. These services include review of assessments, and providing reasonable accommodations designed to assure that students with disabilities may succeed in the least restrictive environment as possible. In addition to serving as an advocate for disabled members of the campus community, the office also provides consulting on facilities development, educational and awareness programs, and providing general support for diversity activities at UH Hilo.

Our Goals:

  1. Assist UH Hilo to meet ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance standards for physical, program, services and activities access.
     
  2. Educate UH Hilo faculty, staff, students and the general public of topics relating to disabilities and/or ADA.
     
  3. Provide consistent, responsive, and excellent quality of service to students and faculty with disabilities participating in UH Hilo programs, services or activities, as well as to the general public.
