The following pages contain instructions, requirements, and general tips for current NSE students. No written instructions or information will be mailed to you. All information from the UHH NSE Office will be provided via this web site and periodically via your UHH Email account.
New Student Life and Recreation Center and Mandatory $78 fee:
The new Student Life (and Recreation) Center will open fall 2008. The facility features an Olympic-sized pool, exercise equipment, weight room, juice bar and lounge. Educational programming will be offered. It has just been announced that a mandatory $78 fee will be automatically assessed students at the time of class registration. Therefore all NSE "Plan A" "incoming" students will be charged the fee, as well as all "outgoing" Plan B students. UH Hilo Financial Aid disbursements will be adjusted to include the new fee.

NSE Applications are still being accepted for the Spring 2009!
2009-2010 applications will begin to be accepted at the UHH NSE Office on Monday, November 17, 2008. Application forms available October 7, 2008. "Priority Deadline" is February 16, 2009.
The free 2009-2010 NSE "Directory of Exchange Opportunities" is available!!! Pick up from UH Hilo NSE Office. CC 313.

Incoming Spring 2009 Students--Important Announcements !!!
The first day for registration is Saturday, December 6, 2008. For instructions click "Incoming Student Exchange instructions" link below. Then click the "Admissions and Registration" link.
We are looking forward to hosting you for the 2008-2009 academic year! In preparation for your exchange, I strongly recommend you not only read this website and but also independently research Hawaiian history and culture. Each of us comes to any new place with our own past experiences and set of expectations. The more we are informed about the new place we are going to, the easier our transition can be!
The volume of Fall 2008 on-campus housing apps from freshmen (who receive hall assignment priority) was particularly large. As a result, dorm assignments for mainland and international students was very limited. We do not anticipate any change for Spring 2009. Therefore, we urge Spring 2009 NSE'ers to immediately investigate off-campus housing options and contact the UHH NSE office for assistance.
