Leaving the US for Vacation

If you are planning to leave the US for a short while (less than 5 months) and return to school at UH Hilo, you will need to have the signature of the International Student Advisor on your I-20 to certify that you have been properly maintaining your F-1 status. The signature for re-entry purposes is valid for 6 months. Please come to the office at least 3 days before you are planning to leave Hilo and complete a “Vacation Request Form.” Leave the form with your I-20 to be signed.
