UHH Home > Student Affairs > Housing

Research indicates that it is those activities and experiences outside the university classroom that have the greatest impact on a college student.  UHH students have the opportunity and benefit of engaging faculty and other students in small settings.  Outside the classroom, students can experience the bonus of living in a unique location of extreme diversity, all of which is located on an island less than 150 miles across.

Resident Life Programming endeavors to take advantage of this unique environment including its diverse and culturally rich community by offering many educational, recreational, community and social activities. Whether hiking to Greensands Beach, being involved in a blood drive, Good Neighbor Day, exploring lava flows, viewing through telescopes on Mauna Kea, or enjoying the day at the premier Hapuna Beach, students would find it very difficult to match only in part what the Big Island and UHH Housing has to offer.
