Campus Recreation Department provides numerous opportunities for patrons to meet their fitness goals. Qualified staff and resources are available for group and personal instruction in a wide variety of classes such as Yoga, Circuit Training, Step Aerobics and Pilates. Non-credit activities are also available to provide educational experiences for a wide variety of interests. The activities offered include Dance, Martial Arts, Self-Defense, and Fitness Training classes. All Imua classes are free to members.

Classes are free with membership, change up your workout and try a new class anytime! For questions, comments and concerns

Hula - beginning hula basics and dances. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy beauty, grace and hard work of hula.  Get a different insight into what Hawai`i is all about.

Wake up yoga- dynamic movement with emphasis on breath and alignment.  Yoga is a fabulous way to develop both strength and flexibility, restore muscular imbalances caused by repetitive movements and develop a calm abiding center.

Core Yoga- a strong core is the basis of good health and overall fitness. Yoga is very useful for toning and sculpting and strengthening the body.

AB Lab- 45 minutes of just abs!  Think 45 minutes is too long? Don’t worry, it’s really not! With a variety of motions and exercises, you will work all the muscles in your core without getting bored!  Come on in and get that 6 pack you’ve always wanted!

Stability Ball- movements designed to elicit core strength and stability while increasing overall muscle conditioning. You will hurt where you never thought possible!

S.E.T- (Strength Endurance Training) this interval class is for individuals looking to combine strength and cardio into one 50-minute long calorie burning workout.

Fit As A Fighter-ideal for getting in shape, or supplementing your martial arts training. Classes incorporate training in boxing and kickboxing with the benefits of strength, speed, resistance, and balance drills for a full body workout. Bring boxing or MMA gloves if you have some.

Aqua Fitness- low impact aerobics in the water that utilizes floatation belts and aqua weights. Fantastic for injuries and joint problems.

Tahitian- basic fundamentals of Tahitian dance will help you build strength and stamina and improve tone and flexibility. You will move your hips in ways you never knew you could!

Intro to weight training- instruction on how to use the weight and cardio equipment in the Student Life Center. This program is designed for group instruction.

Pilates- focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles.

Step- high energy step aerobics, this class will get you sweating while stepping to the music.

Turbo Kick- high energy kickboxing workout combines athletic moves, sports drills, hip hop music, and so much more.

Spin- Want to burn about 450 calories in 45 minutes while toningyour quadriceps and outer thigh muscles like nobody's business?Thenspinning is for you! You stay in place with the same basic movement throughout so it's easier to concentrate on your form than in other types of aerobic classes. And although you follow the general instructions of the spinning teacher, you are in control when it comes to your pace. You can finish a spin class, regardless of your fitness level, simply by adjusting your pace or the tension knob on the bike.

Circuit Train- works every part of your body all in one class! You do a variety of exercises from abs, arms, legs, and even cardio!  Who knew working out could be so fun!

Gongfuball training & conditioning class is an exciting new fitness program which trains the participant on how to play Hawaii's hottest new sport "Gongfuball". Gongfuball training consist of elements of cardio boxing, strength conditioning exercises, Tai Chi for balance and flexibility, rope jumping for stamina and coordination, combines flag capture techniques, and much more. Gongfuball is an extreme sport for men and women which has all the fitness elements of boxing and mixed martial arts without the actual fighting and body damage. If your looking for an exciting fitness program which combines fitness with athleticism, this class is for you!
