He put up valuable and priceless numbers in the University of Hawaii at Hilo men's basketball team's season-opener, cashing in contributions in every important category.

Brandon Price went 7 of 14 from the field, scored 15 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, and recorded three steals in an 84-79 loss to Warner Pacific on Saturday. Full Story »

QUEEN CREEK, AZ - Hawai‘i Hilo senior forward Brandon Price (Redlands, CA/Silverado) posted a double-double in his first game of the season, earning the Pacific West Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor.

The award was announced on Monday, Nov. 17, by the PacWest media office in Queen Creek, AZ, for games played from Nov. 10-16.

Price totaled 15 points and 17 rebounds in a tough loss vs. NAIA power Warner Pacific on Nov. 15. He also recorded three steals and shot 50% (7 for 14) from the field. Full Story »

The University of Hawaii at Hilo's women's tennis team is ranked 23rd in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's pre-season rankings.

Sophomore Eve Castaing is ranked 24th in singles while junior Christie Pagatpatan is ranked 44th.

The duo are ranked 18th in doubles.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo's men's tennis team is ranked 29th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's pre-season rankings.

The Vulcans return their top four positions on the team – Laurent Colombo, Luis Gonzaga, Kevin Tamura and Stephen Royalty.

For the second time in two days, the University of Hawaii at Hilo beat Chaminade University in a non-conference game in the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. The game score was 87-56.

But unlike the previous 78-52 win, the Vulcans (2-0) maintained their level of play for longer periods.

“We were more level headed out there and had everyone on the same page,” UHH forward Jessica Hanato said. “When we got out of it, somebody grabbed everybody, organized it and we went from there.” Full Story »
