Talk on “The Hidden History of Ralston Heights: New Jersey’s Failed Garden of Eden”

There will be a free public lecture entitled “The Hidden History of Ralston Heights: New Jersey’s Failed Garden of Eden” by Archeologist Janet Six on Thursday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the University of Hawaii at Hilo Kanaka’ole Hall 127.

Six is a historic archeologist from the University of Pennsylvania. Her talk focuses on interpreting the nature and worldview of the founding father of Ralstonism and his failed utopian community by looking at the mansion, gardens and landscapes created to display and promote the lifestyles of Ralstonism. This utopian dream failed for reasons that will be made clear in the lecture.

The talk is sponsored by the UH Hilo Anthropology Club.
