Scholars with disabilities awarded
Scholarship Recipient: Walter "Eli" Bressert
A junior astronomy major is the recipient of the University of Hawai`i at Hilo Scholar with Disability Tuition Waiver for the Spring 2004 semester.
Walter "Eli" Bressert maintains a 3.3 grade point average, volunteers at the Onizuka Visitor's Information Station to "help kindle the passions for the stars," and is an active member of the UH Hilo Astronomy Club.
The Fall 2003 recipient was Vanessa Dillard-Fletcher, a junior business administration major who enjoys writing grant proposals to assist non-profit organizations with providing support to persons with disabilities.
