Free seminars on natural hazards scheduled for June on O`ahu

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Center for the Study of Active Volcanoes (CSAV) presents a series of free natural hazards seminars in Honolulu the first two weeks of June. Each seminar runs 9 am – noon at the McKinley High School Auditorium. The seminar on June 1 will be held on the UH Manoa campus, HIGP Room 110. Refreshments will be served.

The schedule of seminars include: Volcanoes (June 1); Earthquakes (June 3); Tsunamis (June 7); and Hurricanes (June 10).

A series of presentations will be given by subject matter experts, who will describe the science of the hazard, the impacts of those hazards on residents of our State, as well as practical ways that residents can protect themselves, their families, and their property.
