Na Pua No`eau, the University of Hawai`i at Hilo's Center for Gifted and Talented Native Hawaiian Children, is currently accepting applications for its Super GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) Saturday, to be held on Saturday, November 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park. The event is open to native Hawaiian students in grades 9-12. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. The registration deadline is Friday, November 15.

Students will learn how scientists and experts use technology in the field to gather information and monitor volcanoes. They will also take a field trip to study geology and use GPS units to gain new skills in science while investigating nature and the environment.

Participants should enjoy hiking, being outdoors and having fun!
