Introductory talk and demo on tai chi, medical qigong scheduled Feb 6

“Tai Chi and Medical Qigong: An Introductory Talk and Demo with Master Yijian Feng and Karen Nesbitt” will be presented on Friday, February 6, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo in UCB 114.

Spend an evening with Master Feng Yijian from Hebei Medical Qigong Hospital and Karen Nesbitt, MA in psychology of counseling and psychotherapy, learning about the health benefits of both tai chi and medical qigong that are currently being put into practice around the world.

A broad review will be presented of the history and recent research showing the benefits of a daily practice on general wellness as well as on chronic illnesses such as diabetes.

Following the talk will be the viewing of the film, Qigong: Ancient Chinese Healing for the 21st Century, and then a demonstration on both tai chi and medical qigong. There is an admission fee of $10. Members of the UH Hilo, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) pay a reduced fee of $5.
