Saturday Enrichment Program explores lava tubes
Na Pua No'eau, the University of Hawaii at Hilo'ster for Gifted and Talented Native Hawaiian Children, is conducting Super Science Saturday for Hawaiian students in grades 6 - 12 on Saturday, December 7 beginning at 8 a.m. The registration deadline is November 29 and space is limited.

Students will explore mysterious white cave goo and blind insects, find out how water flows through lava rock, and learn the cultural uses of caves. Activities will be taught by science faculty at UH Hilo, who will also conduct an afternoon field trip to Kaumana Caves.

Students should come dress prepared in long pants and shoes. A rain jacket and a flashlight are also recommended. Parents are welcome to attend.
