Publico awarded Tom agriculture scholarship

Keiko Publico, a senior at the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resource Management, has been awarded the 13th annual Frederick K.H. Tom Memorial Scholarship.

Dr. William W. Steiner, CAFNRM dean, presented the $500 award to Publico, who was born in Hilo and raised in Waimanalo, O`ahu.

The scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of the late Dr. Tom, first dean of the UH Hilo College of Agriculture (now CAFNRM), from 1976 to 1981, to assist full-time students with the completion of their studies.
