Personal caregiving class in West Hawai`i

The University of Hawaii at Hilo Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is offering a class in personal care given this fall in West Hawai`i. The class, entitled “Caregiving Training,” runs on six consecutive Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, September 23 through October 28, at the Arc of Kona.
The course will cover important topics such as communication and reporting procedures, health and safety for clients and the employee, ethics in the workplace, and caring for both the young and elderly with disabilities. Individuals may choose to take one or all six sections. The cost is $30 per section or $180 for all six, including a certificate of completion.
