Student artists on display at UH Hilo Campus Center

The 2006 Annual Student Art Exhibition is currently on display at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Campus Center Gallery through September 30, 2006. The exhibition features work by UH Hilo and Hawai`i Community College students in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital images, sculpture, and ceramics.
Laurelee Neptune and Rory Wick were each awarded Honolulu Printmakers Association prizes for printmaking. Both artists received a cash award of $150. Other award winners for 2006 are: Jack Strada, painting; Warren Giles, drawing; Gwendolyn Mathers, drawing; Michelle Fujii, drawing; Leila Piianaia, cyanotype; Juli Ann Niemeyer, cyanotype; Marci Browne, design; Ku‘uwainani Eaton, sculpture; and Cindy Jaya Dupris, painting. The award winners received art materials from Hilo Art and Glass Supply.
The Annual Student Art Exhibition is a joint presentation of the UH Hilo Student Art Association and the Student Activities Council. The gallery is located on the third floor of the Campus Center.
