Artist Richard Hunt slide lecture presented

The University of Hawaii at Hilo Art Department invites the public to a slide lecture by visiting artist Richard Hunt on Monday, November 15, 2004 at 7 p.m. in the Art Department Gallery, Building 395, Manono Campus. Hunt is the juror for the 2005 Pacific Rim International Print Exhibition, which opens in early 2005 in the UH Hilo Campus Center Gallery.
Hunt was born in 1935 in Chicago, IL. At the age of 20, he began to exhibit his work while still a student in Chicago. He is one of the most sought after sculptors in the United States. Generally known for his public works, he has installed over 50 outdoor sculptures, including “Tower of Aspiration,” at the Springfield Baptist Church in downtown Augusta, GA.
Hunt’s work is included in museum collections such as The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL, The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C., National Gallery, Washington, D.C., National Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C., National Museum of Israel, Jerusalem, Nelson Gallery-Atkins Museum, Kansas City, MO, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY; The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY, Museum of the Twentieth Century, Vienna, Austria, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY.
