Computer science scholarship applications still being accepted

Scholarship applications for computer science majors who will attend the University of Hawai`i at Hilo are still being accepted, announced Computer Science Department Chair Dr. Judith Gersting.
The scholarship provides four-year support for up to 15 computer science majors who enroll at UH Hilo beginning Fall 2003. The scholarship is available to high school and community college graduates who are academically qualified and have a demonstrated financial need. Applicants must also be full-time students who are United States citizens, nationals, refugee aliens, or permanent resident aliens at the time of application. Students may receive up to $3,125 per year for a maximum of four years to graduation depending on financial need. Scholarship funds may be used toward the costs of tuition and fees, room and board, and books.
The scholarships are made possible through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
