Hutchinson sugar lecture scheduled

The public is invited to a free lecture on “Sugar and Decay: an Archeological and Ethnohistoric Overview of Hutchinson Sugar in Hilea and Pahala, Ka`u” by Janet Six on Wednesday, July 28 at 7 p.m. in the University of Hawaii at Hilo Kanaka`ole Hall 127.
Six is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania and is currently directing this summer’s UH Hilo Archeology Field School. She will present preliminary results form ethnohistoric work and the summer field school in Ka`u.
The talk is sponsored by the UH Hilo Department of Anthropology.
