Visiting Artist Reddy at UH Hilo

Visiting Artist Krishna Reddy presents a slide lecture at the Art Department of the University of Hawaii at Hilo on Wednesday, February 4 beginning at 7 pm. The Art Department is located on the corner of Manono and Kawili Streets. The public is invited to attend.
Reddy was born in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh in 1925. He joined Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan in 1941 and finished his studies there in 1946. After graduation, he taught art at Kalakshetra in the then-Madras from 1947 to 1950. He later went abroad in 1951 where he studied at the Slade School of Fine Arts, London, studied sculpture with Osip Zadkine from 1952 to 1955 in Paris, and then with Marino Marini in Milan from 1956 to 1957. While in Paris, he also studied engraving with S W Hayter from 1953 to 1955. Reddy worked and taught at Hayter
