Dr. Penny Van Esterik will give a talk on "Breast feeding Advocacy: Meeting New Challenges in a Globalized World" on Wednesday, March 6 at 7:30 pm in the University of Hawai`i at Hilo's Campus Center 301. There is no admission charge.


Van Esterik is a leading human rights advocate and scholar based out of York University in Toronto, Canada. She has conducted much of her research in Thailand and Malaysia. Her talk will focus on her Breast feeding research, and the related issues of gender and sexuality, HIV/AIDS, environmental contamination and corporatization.
