For Immediate Release

The public is invited to Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium, scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, noon to 4 p.m. in the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Campus Center 301. There is no admission charge.

“The symposium provides a profound inquiry on ways to manifest a bold vision: to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on the Earth,” noted Dr. Catherine Becker, UH Hilo associate professor of communication. “A series of multimedia presentations on the current state of our Earth by some of the world's foremost thinkers, scientists, and leaders will be followed by facilitated group activities and discussions.”

The symposium will be followed by a second one on April 25 called “Getting into Action.”

The event is co-sponsored by the Pachamama Alliance and the Diversity Committee of UH Hilo. No pre-registration is required, and organizers request that participants arrive and sign in by 11:30 a.m.
