Chancellor’s Scholars for 2006-2007

University of Hawai‘i at Hilo Chancellor Rose Tseng has named 15 students as recipients of UH Hilo’s prestigious Chancellor’s Scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year. The scholarship was established four years ago to recognize outstanding graduates from high schools throughout the state of Hawai‘i who are in need of financial aid to complete their undergraduate studies.

Recipients graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school class, earned grade point averages of at least 3.5, and excelled in leadership, experience, potential, community service, and SAT scores.

“Transforming Our Students, Our Island, Our State and the Pacific Rim”

Aloha members of the Board of Regents, President McClain and colleagues. Welcome to UH Hilo.

My presentation today will be in three parts. First, I will highlight UH Hilo’s development and transformation, then speak of our distinctions, and conclude with how we measure our excellence.
