It is quite unbelievable that October is upon us, and the pinch of so many things to get done is felt a bit stronger. Nevertheless, let’s remember all the many things we have done and are doing.

Thank you to the APT’s (Administrative, Professional, Technical) for getting together and raising important issues and concerns. I was very pleased to see so many of you that afternoon. We started the get together by highlighting UH Hilo’s programs, major achievements, future plans and challenges. I was glad to hear that many of you accessed our University Web and Looking Around the Corner, and thanks for the positive comments received about this feature. This is my attempt to do a weekly summary of activities

Starting up school is a very busy time. Thank you everyone for the extra hours and extra accommodations in trouble-shooting, responding to and reducing crises, and just coping with everyday challenges. Your patience and good-will make a significant difference to students, colleagues and the over-all work environment.
