Student Health 101

Housing provides each resident with the Student Health 101 Newsletter which is published 10 times during the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 academic semesters. The information provided relates to major health issues that could affect students on any campus. Topics include information on unhealthy diet and nutrition, excessive alcohol consumption, cold, flu and contagious diseases, and much more.

Access to the newsletter will be through university student email accounts. A parent version is also available on request from the Resident Life Programming Office (808-974-7722). Any student may have their name removed from the newsletter by contact the Resident Life Programming Office as well.

Counseling Center Outreach to the Residence Halls

The UH Hilo Counseling Center and UHH Housing are working together to help residents access services. Residents can contact the Counseling Center at 974.7399 or for more information, UHH Counseling Center Outreach.

Screening Tools

UHH-Housing and the UHH Counseling Center will be provide students with access to screening programs in conjunction with College Response. These screening programs are provided free to UHH students and can be taken anytime throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Screenings are anonymous.
