The French language is the second most widely spoken language in the Pacific Islands. Kamila Dudley, French instructor for UH Hilo, is a certified professor in teaching French as a second language from the Paris-Sorbonne University III. Innovative methods with CD-ROM, video and computer grammar exercises are used to make learning more interesting. Ms. Dudley, first recipient of the Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence by an Instructor or Lecturer is a French native and she has been teaching French for 24 years.
