Sophomore Kalopa Retreat 2004
Calling all happy campers! Students were able to get in some pre-summer bonding during the Annual Sophomore Retreat in May.
UB tenth graders gathered for a self-development and team-building retreat at Kalopa State Park near Honoka'a. This retreat gave students an opportunity to get to know one another and to learn how to work together (while cooking their own meals).
They spent the weekend in the woods playing games with names like "Human Bingo," "Boppity Bop Bop Bop," "Shipwrecked" and "Hula Hoop Challenge."
The sophomores also ventured out on a three-mile nature "walk" that involved clearing trails, climbing over and under trees, and generally getting muddy. The hike also offered valuable life lessons like, "when life gives you mosquitoes, RUN!"
It was one enjoyable weekend!
