NHERC Running Start Information

High school students are able to earn both UH Hilo and high school credit through the Running Start program.

NHERC Running Start Courses

Currently, all on-site NHERC courses are available to Running Start students. Please see the credit courses page for the current course offerings.

Applying for Running Start

To qualify for Running Start, students must meet the UH Hilo Running Start admissions requirements. A complete application packet must be submitted to NHERC, including:

  1. Running Start Application - Select UH Hilo as the campus you plan to attend
  2. UH Hilo Application form - There is no $50 application fee required for Running Start students
  3. High school transcript

Applications for the Fall 2009 semester are no longer being accepted.

Paying for Running Start Classes

Students are responsible for payment of tuition, fees and books. However, some scholarship opportunities are available. Please visit our NHERC Scholarships page for more information.
