Student Positions within Hohonu

Editor-in-Chief (EIC): 1 position

Editor-in-Chief is also head of Executive Board for Hohonu. Calls meetings and sets agenda. Responsible for finding and training new editors. EIC coordinates submissions, blind-read jury process, and participates in the entire editorial and publishing process. Ultimately, the EIC is responsible for the day-to-day workings of the publication. One year editor experience is required.

Editor: 4 positions

Editors review submissions, help decide which submissions will be included in the issue, and work with authors to polish their accepted work before publication. Editors are expected to read over one hundred pages of copy for content and quality to select which pieces will go into the journal. After selections are made, each editor is responsible for at least 3-5 submissions, depending on what has been selected. Each editor will review papers for organization, grammar, and sentence structure. They will contact and work with authors to make pieces ready for publication. Editors are also expected to participate in Hohonu's promotional and organizational activities, including mandatory editorial meetings.

Business Manager: 1 position

Business Manger must attend all general and executive board meetings. Must attend at least one BoSP (Board of Student Publications) meeting per month. Responsible for managing budget and acquiring budgeted items. Must keep copies of all financial documents and make sure secretary also has a copy of everything. Prepares monthly and yearly fiscal reports.

Recording Secretary: 1 position

Secretary must attend all general and executive board meetings. Responsible for taking minutes and disseminating them to members within one week of meeting. Must also keep copies of all correspondence with BOSP, Lai Sha, and publication authors.
