COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION
March 5, 2008
UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII AT HILO STUDENTS:
Commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Edith Kanaka’ole Multi-Purpose Stadium. The ceremony begins at 9:00 am (check-in begins at 7:30 am). Rehearsal is on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Edith Kanaka’ole Multi-Purpose Stadium, 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Questions regarding commencement can be forwarded to the commencement chairperson, Judith Fox-Goldstein at 974-7555 (email: commence@hawaii.edu). A sign language interpreter will be provided for the event.
HAWAII COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS:
Commencement is scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2008. The Commencement exercise will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Edith Kanaka’ole Multi-Purpose Stadium. Please check-in at Aunty Sally’s Lu’au Hale by 5:30 p.m. to line up and receive instructions for the ceremony. There will not be a rehearsal. Entrance to this event is open and does not require a ticket. Graduates will receive more information through the mail and their MyUH e-mail account. Questions regarding commencement can be forwarded to commencement chairpersons, Kenoa Dela Cruz at 974-7741 (noa@hawaii.edu) or Doodie Downs at 974-7611 (ernelle@hawaii.edu). GOLD HONORS CORDS:
Honors candidates will be determined by the Record’s Office. Candidates will be mailed a letter indicating that their Honors Cord can be purchased at the Bookstore for $9.95. Honors Cords are to be worn during commencement.
CAP AND GOWN:
Beginning April 14, 2008 and running through May 2, 2008, Cap & Gowns will be in-stock and available for purchase at the
UH Hilo Bookstore. Store hours are 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, Mon. – Fri. Prices are as follows:
Cap, Gown and Tassel $26.00
Tassel Only $4.50
For persons over 250lbs, or taller than 6’6”, please place a Special Cap & Gown order between
March 3rd and March 11th, 2008.
CLASS RINGS:
Herff Jones Ring Company will NOT be displaying their products this semester, however, ring brochures will be available at the UH Hilo Bookstore for those who are interested. Questions regarding class rings can be forwarded to Mary Chiang at (808) 395-1322, or emailed to mbasales@hawaii.rr.com.
GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The Bookstore will be printing graduation announcements from April 7 through May 9, 2008. Estimated price is $1.35 each. MINIMUM ORDERS AND RE-ORDERS WILL BE 25 ANNOUNCEMENTS. Please note that announcements are NOT required for entrance into the commencement site.
