Earn twelve (12) credits from the University of Hawai, Hilo for Spanish 201, Spanish 202 and Spanish 298, plus a Service Learning Certificate from UH Hilo Student Service Corps.

Evaluative Questionnaire

It is imperative that participants of Castellano en Peru/Ola ka honua understand that this is an intensive study and service-learning program.  Your must commit to attend daily classes, participate in class discussions, write daily homework assignments, complete projects and study for quizzes and exams.  In addition, you must also have the enthusiasm and stamina to conduct Service Learning projects.  Keep in mind that for each project, you will have to document prior planning, describe the project as it happened, and conclude with reflections on what you gained from the experience.  It is also essential to get along with others-classmates, professors, local students, children, elders, teenagers.  Keep in mind that we will be together for six and a half weeks.  You must be patient, generous, considerate, respectful and willing to abide by the rules of the program.  There are other programs that will take you to Peru, some more expensive, others less expensive, but Castellano en Peru/Ola ka honua is a unique opportunity that requires hard work, perseverance and a commitment to rigorous study.
