Capoeira Angola
This introductory class will be grounded in the practice of this Afro-Brazilian art
form. Join instructor Joe Hoffman and the FICA Hilo Hawaii study group in
movements of dance, martial arts, acrobatics, stretching, strengthening, inversions and improvisations; sharing fun and challenging conversations with each other through the "game" of Capoeira Angola, rooted in its music and song. By learning some of the traditional songs students will discover aspects of the Brazilian-Portuguese language and culture. No experience necessary and all are welcome. *Please bring a t-shirt that can be tucked in, long pants and comfortable shoes.
