Chinese Culture Study Tour

For the thirteenth consecutive time, the University of Hawai`i at Hilo and Peking University, the most prestigious institution of higher education in China, will cosponsor the Summer Institute in Chinese Thought and Chinese Culture. The program will include lectures on Chinese culture as well as field trips to the Silk Road, various historical sites and cultural centers in China.

Peking University will grant 2 credits and issue a certificate. English translation will be provided for all classes and activities. Students will obtain 4 credits from UH Hilo, and the credits can be used to satisfy 2 UH English "writing intensive" requirements. Extra research for additional 3-6 credits can also be arranged.

"Old timers," those who have previously participated in our tours, my obtain a substatial fee deduction ($600). Auditors are welcome, but must follow the normal registration process.
